We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our Finance team and support critical accounting, licensing, and administrative functions that help keep our growing business running smoothly.

What You'll Do

As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our day-to-day accounting operations by:

• Posting Accounts Receivable transactions daily
• Processing ACH and credit card payments
• Following up on past-due customer accounts
• Preparing and mailing customer statements
• Reconciling Accounts Receivable and related accounts
• Maintaining tax-exempt customer documentation
• Setting up vendors and maintaining W-9 records
• Ordering bank deposit supplies for restaurant locations
• Assisting with sales and use tax audits
• Managing business licenses and health permits for multiple restaurant locations
• Running monthly accounting reports
• Assisting with period-end activities and special projects

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• At least 1 year of recent accounting, bookkeeping, or reconciliation experience
• Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with accounts receivable functions
• Experience supporting audits or maintaining financial records
• Experience working with accounting or ERP systems

Work Location

This position follows a hybrid work schedule . Team members are required to work onsite at our Birmingham, Alabama office during the training period and must be able to reliably commute to the office. After successful completion of training, employees may transition to a hybrid schedule that includes a minimum of two days per week in the office.
