About the Position

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Critical Care – Western North Carolina

Start Date: September 28, 2026

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend requirement and holiday support rotation. Unit operates as a 10-bed ICU/PCU overflow with 2:1 ICU and 4-5:1 PCU patient ratios.

Highlights:

• Critical care environment with focus on medical ICU patient population requiring hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• Advanced equipment including Targeted Temperature Management (TTM), ventilators, lift equipment, and IV pumps
• Documentation system: Cerner EMR
• Shift staffing includes 1 Charge RN and 5 Staff RNs; charge nurse out of patient assignment
• Floating may be required to support other units as needed
• Bedside shift report and nurse leader rounding protocols in place

Requirements:

• Current RN license in North Carolina or compact state license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Medical ICU experience in a large facility setting required
• Advanced skills in ventilator management, critical care pharmacology (IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors), hemodynamic monitoring, and central line management
• Experience assisting with bedside procedures including chest tube insertion and intubations
• Strong critical thinking skills with flexibility and collaborative approach to teamwork
