Busy rheumatology practice seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Billing Specialist to support revenue cycle operations and patient care. This role involves billing, AR management, infusion copay assistance programs, and medication inventory support. Responsibilities
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately
- Manage and follow up on accounts receivable (AR)
- Review and resolve claim denials and appeals
- Administer copay assistance programs for infusion therapies
- Respond to patient billing questions with professionalism and compassion
- Process medical record requests (HIPAA compliant)
- Assist with inventory management of specialty medications (tracking, reconciliation, ordering support)
- Maintain accurate patient account records
- Perform additional administrative duties as needed
- Medical billing experience required (rheumatology or specialty/infusion preferred)
- Strong knowledge of EOBs, insurance processes, AR, and denials
- EMR experience required; NextGen strongly preferred
- Experience with biologics/copay assistance programs a plus
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Compassionate and patient-focused
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and follow-through
