About This Role The Staff Nurse in the Emergency Department Float Pool at Mount Sinai West is responsible for the care activities and goal achievements of assigned patients, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, and intervening in health problems. Highlights Pay: $64.2353/hour Location: New York, NY Facility: Mount Sinai West Department/Unit: Nursing Float Pool - WST Schedule: Full-Time, Day shift What You'll Do Conduct nursing assessments based on interview, examination, observation, and review of patient records. Ensure that the patient's progress is reflected in progress notes and revised care plans. Plan discharge consistent with the patient's status and facilitate inter-departmental communication. Communicate information to the patient based on their level of awareness and readiness to learn. Support orientation of new staff members by providing feedback and acting as a preceptor. Function as a professional role model and mentor for students and volunteers. Organize provision of care to meet priority needs of patients and unit. Communicate condition of patients requiring additional intervention to leadership. Participate in the development of other staff members. Reflect collaborative efforts in meeting patient and unit needs through communication. Education Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) with matriculation in a BSN Program acceptable. Experience 1+ year of nursing experience required. Licenses & Certifications Current RN License in New York. BCLS certification required. ACLS certification required for specific departments. PALS certification required for specific departments.
