Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, crisis interventions, and follow-up care to identify the needs of clients effectively.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, ensuring clients access appropriate mental health services tailored to their unique needs.

• Provide ongoing psychological support and counseling sessions, addressing a variety of behavioral health concerns among patients.

• Lead group therapy sessions, particularly focusing on mental health observation units and other assigned areas to facilitate peer support and coping strategies.

• Complete accurate clinical documentation and statistical reports as mandated, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and regulations.

• Engage in case conferences and treatment planning that involve patients currently receiving and being considered for mental health treatment, promoting collaborative decision-making.

• Participate in weekly clinical supervision and continuous professional development meetings with the Clinical Supervisor to enhance therapeutic skills and knowledge.

• Oversee and mentor social work interns or student volunteers when assigned, fostering a culture of learning and growth within our team.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by your Unit Chief, Assistant Unit Chief, and/or Clinical Supervisor that align with department goals.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The mental health counselor will primarily work with individuals facing various behavioral health issues, including but not limited to severe mental illness, substance use disorders, and psychological crises. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring these vulnerable populations receive compassionate and effective care, contributing to their rehabilitation and social reintegration.

Qualifications\n

• A valid mental health license in the state of Washington, such as LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT.

• A master's degree or doctorate in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A minimum of five years of full-time, paid, professional experience in a clinical behavioral health setting, with at least two years post-licensure.

Preferred Experience\n

While all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with hands-on experience in correctional health services, particularly working with populations in crisis. Experience conducting both assessments and treatment for individuals struggling with behavioral issues would be advantageous. Additionally, familiarity with inpatient mental health care environments will set candidates apart.

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 115,000 to 130,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
