Job Title: RN Centralized Registry Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Indiana RN license or compact license Certifications: BLS through AHA Must-Have: - Minimum of 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience. - At least 1 year of MedSurg experience in a large hospital with more than 600 beds. Description: The position requires a registered nurse to provide general medical and surgical nursing care. The candidate will care for a diverse population of patients with various diagnoses. Chronic illnesses managed include COPD, Diabetes, CHF, and end-stage renal disease. GI issues such as pancreatitis, bleeding, and inflammatory bowel diseases are also handled. The nurse will manage infections like pneumonia, cellulitis, and sepsis. Additionally, care may include patients with neurological issues such as stroke and dementia. Mental health disorders including depression and substance abuse will also be encountered. Patients may undergo procedures such as colonoscopies and minor surgeries. Routine nursing duties will include assessments and care planning. Effective inter-professional communication is essential. Familiarity with electronic health records is required. The nurse will use IV pumps, wound vacs, and telemetry monitoring equipment. Patient-to-nurse ratios will be 1:5 to 1:6. Floating to other medical units is part of the role. The dress code involves wearing Caribbean Blue scrubs. Candidates must be available for 12-hour shifts, including weekends. A comprehensive orientation program is provided for supplemental staff. Candidates should possess the required licensures and certifications. Strong assessment and communication skills are necessary for this role.
