Senior Tax Manager – Partner Track / Direct Hire, FTE / San Mateo, CA / Hybrid, 2-3 days per week onsite Summary: Client is a boutique CPA firm with over 40 years of community involvement looking for an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our partnership track. We are seeking a motivated professional ready to step into a leadership role with clear opportunity for ownership as a partner within the next few years. As one of our partners approaches retirement, we are looking for the right leader to assume a significant portion of his book of business and grow with the firm. This is a senior management position with direct path to partnership. You will take on substantial client and team leadership responsibilities, positioning yourself to become an equity partner in the near term. Responsibilities Preparation and review of federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts and estates Preparation of tax projections and strategic tax planning Leadership on IRS audits and tax notice responses Development, management, and expansion of client relationships Supervision and mentoring of accounting and tax staff Contribution to firm management and business development strategy Required Skills Active CPA license with minimum 15 years of experience in public accounting and tax return preparation Strong technical knowledge across individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and estate taxation Demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff Excellent interpersonal and client relationship management skills Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment High accuracy and attention to detail in fast-paced, high-compliance environment Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities Pay for this position is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered by our client.
