Commercial Executive — AI Recruiting Software Sales (Remote, Contract-to-Hire)

The Opportunity Most recruiting teams are sitting on a goldmine they never touch: thousands of candidates they already sourced, screened, interviewed, or nearly hired. Our client, an early-stage AI SaaS company in the recruiting technology space, built a candidate rediscovery product that plugs into a team’s existing applicant tracking system (ATS) and surfaces past candidates who fit today’s open requisitions, before anyone starts a new search from scratch. Customers adopted it faster than anything else on the platform, and the company is now going to market around it. This is the first dedicated commercial hire for that product. You’ll report directly to the Head of Product & Commercial and help shape how the company sells, prices, and positions it. Compensation: Read This First This role starts as a 3-month, commission-based independent contractor (1099) engagement , with no base salary during the contract period. The upside is built to reward people who can open doors: 40% of collected first-year revenue on self-sourced new business (up to $400K), 35% from $400K to $1.15M, and 30% above that Early deals have averaged around $65K in annual contract value, so a single self-sourced deal can be worth roughly $26K in commission Separate commission on company-sourced deals, first-year renewals, and expansion revenue you sell Commissions are paid monthly on revenue the company has collected After a successful contract period: a path to a full-time position with base salary plus uncapped commission What You’ll Own Build pipeline by prospecting recruiting agencies, talent acquisition teams, and HR leaders, starting with your own network Run discovery on how teams source candidates, manage recruiting history, and approach new requisitions Turn real workflow problems into credible commercial opportunities Qualify, develop, negotiate, and close new business Bring objections, buying signals, and market feedback straight back to product and leadership Help build a repeatable go-to-market motion from the ground up Who Fits You don’t need a conventional Account Executive title. The client is open to strong-trajectory candidates from: Agency recruiting , including 360/full-desk recruiters who have done their own business development SDR/BDR roles ready to own the full cycle HR tech or B2B SaaS sales , including partial-cycle sellers What matters is credible evidence of prospecting, discovery, commercial judgment, ownership, and the ability to move deals toward close. An existing network among recruiters, talent acquisition leaders, or HR buyers is a major advantage. The Setup Fully remote. You must live in Texas, North Carolina, Arizona, Florida, Missouri, Michigan, or New York (Texas and New York hubs are prioritized) No required hours or fixed schedule during the contract period; you run your own prospecting and outreach Access to the company’s CRM, demo environment, and go-to-market tools Simple process: intro call, then a working session with the Head of Product & Commercial (no presentation, no take-home), then a contract offer Compensation disclosure: compensation during the initial contract period is commission-based only.
