We are seeking a hands-on Machine Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity with an established medical device manufacturer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with production equipment experience who enjoys understanding how machinery works, troubleshooting problems and taking ownership beyond simply operating a machine.

You’ll join a small production team operating both newer and established automated manufacturing equipment. The company is specifically looking to add more technical capability to the team, so the ideal candidate will have experience operating manufacturing machinery and be comfortable identifying problems, making adjustments and troubleshooting equipment when something isn’t running correctly. You do not need to be an engineer or have experience with this company’s specific equipment. pasted

This is a full-time, hourly position working on the production floor. There is no travel or supervisory responsibility. 

What You’ll Do

• Set up automated production equipment for manufacturing runs, including loading materials, verifying settings and completing required pre-production checks
• Operate automated and semi-automated manufacturing equipment according to established work instructions and procedures
• Monitor equipment performance, output and product quality throughout production runs
• Troubleshoot machine and process issues and perform first-level corrective maintenance
• Make approved machine adjustments to maintain production, yield and quality standards
• Escalate more complex equipment issues when additional technical support is needed
• Perform routine equipment cleaning and preventive maintenance
• Conduct in-process quality checks and identify and segregate material that does not meet requirements
• Accurately complete production records, equipment logs and other required manufacturing documentation
• Package, label and stage materials while verifying quantities and production information
• Maintain a clean, organized and inspection-ready work area
• Work closely with other technicians, Quality and Engineering to meet production goals

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED, or demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities of the position using written and verbal instructions
• 2+ years of production assembly, manufacturing or machine operation experience
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting equipment or process problems rather than solely operating machinery
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn unfamiliar production equipment
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and accurately document production activity
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Basic math and computer skills
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination

Formal technical training is not required . The company is very open to someone who has developed strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills through hands-on manufacturing experience. Technical coursework or a certificate in advanced manufacturing, mechatronics, industrial maintenance or a related area would be a plus. pasted

Preferred Experience

• Experience setting up, operating, troubleshooting or maintaining automated or semi-automated manufacturing equipment
• Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical or another regulated manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
• Exposure to Lean, 5S or continuous improvement practices

Work Environment

This position works on the production floor in a structured, quality-focused manufacturing environment. The role involves automated equipment, moving mechanical components and moderate machine noise. This position is being hired on a contract-to-hire basis , with the intention of transitioning the successful individual to permanent employment after a successful introductory period.
