Clinical Role

Join an established cardiology team in Cottonwood, Arizona, providing ongoing interventional cardiology coverage across both hospital and outpatient clinic settings. This opportunity offers a rotating schedule between hospital and clinic responsibilities, with a primarily adult patient population age 60 and older. Hospital responsibilities include STEMI care, cardiology consultations, and transesophageal echocardiograms, while the outpatient clinic sees approximately 18-24 patients per day.

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM
• Rotation between hospital and clinic each week
• Possible weekend coverage
• 30-minute unpaid lunch
• Overtime begins after the scheduled shift

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Practice Setting:

Hospital

Outpatient Clinic

Patient Population:

Adults age 60 and older

Hospital Volume:

• Approximately 8-14 cardiology consults per day
• Approximately 1-2 TEEs per day
• STEMI/cardiology consultation service

Clinic Volume:

Approximately 18-24 patients per day

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Provide interventional cardiology coverage
• Manage STEMI patients
• Perform hospital cardiology consultations
• Perform and interpret TEEs as clinically indicated
• Provide outpatient cardiology care
• Evaluate and manage adult cardiology patients
• Collaborate with hospital and clinic support staff
• Communicate effectively with patients and staff
• Rotate between hospital and clinic responsibilities

Coverage Model

Hospital/Clinic Rotation:

Providers will rotate between hospital and clinic coverage each week.

Hospital Support:

• Medical assistants
• Patient care technicians
• Nurses
• Physician assistant support in-house

Specialty Considerations:

• No CT surgery backup
• STEMI and cardiology consultation responsibilities

Requirements

• Board Certified Interventional Cardiology - Required
• Active Arizona Medical License - Required
• Facility has time to license if needed
• ACLS - Required
• BLS - Required
• Minimum 2 years of experience - Required
• Strong interpersonal and relational skills with staff and patients - Preferred

Credentialing

Estimated credentialing timeframe is approximately 30 days.
