Development Coordinator

Summary: The Development Coordinator is responsible for responsible for supporting the success of City Park Conservancy's development department, including donor cultivation and stewardship efforts, and key development activities such as annual and seasonal sponsorship and grants. The role includes tracking various donation sources through the donor database (Raiser's Edge) and associated systems. This position will ensure efficiency and timeliness in processing donations and acknowledgements, including benefits and fulfillment, with a focus on data integrity to maximize fundraising revenue, communication impact, and retention. The Development Coordinator will also support fundraising and membership functions of the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Development Department Administration (90%)

• Process check, credit card, ACH and stock deposits, including acknowledgement letters, across department.
• Coordinate annual and seasonal sponsorships, corporate grants and donor recognition programs (e.g. stadium signage and bench tributes), including applications, materials, reporting, lists, and solicitation tracking.
• Create fundraising payment web pages (in OneCause event software) for annual and seasonal sponsored events.
• Facilitate fulfillment of sponsorship benefits including donor recognition on signage, plaques, web sites, social media, etc.
• Coordinate donor relations with the creation of materials and stewardship gifts; Track actions and strategies for donor stewardship.
• Assist with special giving campaigns (GiveNOLA Day, seasonal appeals), fundraising event ticketing and membership campaigns.
• Support pledge tracking across endowments, legacy gifts and campaigns.
• Consolidate, track, and analyze donor data across all fundraising efforts including bulk digital and mail communications, event invitations, constituent outreach, fundraising campaigns, grant awards, and volunteer service.
• Manage confidential, computerized records of financial and in-kind donors, prospects, their giving histories, and other personal information.
• Support office supply management, departmental invoice processing, and fundraising and membership event support.
• Support calendar management for the Development department.
• Pursue continuing education and growth in proficiency with Raiser's Edge Database and CRM systems and in donor relations best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the department and organization.

On-Site Coordination (10%)

• Participate in fundraising and cultivation outreach, projects, and events.
• Support on-site registration at event check-in tables
• Attend fundraising events, approximately 6 times per year, some nights and weekends required.

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Fluent knowledge with Raiser's Edge or similar platform CRM required; familiarity with online event platforms preferred
• Knowledge of fundraising information sources, familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, strategies, procedures, and research techniques for fundraising prospect research
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work easily and effectively with a wide range of people including donors, board members, volunteers, team members, and other nonprofit representatives
• Ability to write in a compelling and concise manner with a keen eye for detail
• Conceptual thinking with the ability to think in terms of abstract ideas and ability to produce a new concept or idea
• Sensitivity to and respect for the privacy rights of donors in all communications
• A valid Louisiana driver's license
