Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews with clients, effectively documenting their history and mental health status from consultation through to treatment completion.
\n
• Assess clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health, ensuring accurate evaluations are made to guide treatment planning.
\n
• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans, adapting them to the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging and supportive individual and group therapy sessions, employing therapeutic techniques that resonate best with the clients.
\n
• Monitor client progress throughout their treatment journey, adjusting plans and interventions based on feedback and observed outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other mental health specialists, nurses, and social workers, to create comprehensive intervention strategies.
\n
• Maintain ongoing communication with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients who may require hospitalization and follow-up care.
\n
• Identify and proactively mitigate behaviors that may hinder a client’s recovery, offering guidance and strategies to overcome these challenges.
\n
• Assist family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges associated with their loved ones, fostering a support network.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work with a diverse client population, including children, adolescents, adults, and families, each with unique challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral issues. By providing culturally competent care, your work will directly contribute to uplifting community mental health, ensuring that all clients receive the support they need to thrive.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex mental health concepts in understandable terms.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to connect and empathize with clients.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of experience as a mental health counselor.
\n
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, or similar platforms for documenting client interactions and treatment notes.
\n
• Experience working with clients facing co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, including addiction disorders.
\n
• Familiarity with best practices as established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• A thorough understanding of the effects and implications of psychoactive medications prescribed by physicians.
\n
