Tax Manager

Position Overview: Tax Manager We are seeking a seasoned Tax Manager to lead tax engagements and enhance client relationships, playing a pivotal role in the growth of our New Jersey practice. The Tax Manager will collaborate closely with firm leadership while delivering comprehensive tax and advisory services to closely held businesses, partnerships, corporations, and high‑net‑worth individual clients. Key Responsibilities Oversee and review tax engagements for businesses, partnerships, corporations, and individuals, ensuring compliance and accuracy. Ensure timely completion of tax deliverables, including preparation and review of tax returns, projections, workpapers, and associated documentation. Provide tax planning and advisory services focused on the needs of closely held entities and affluent individuals. Cultivate and maintain robust client relationships by leveraging responsiveness and deep technical knowledge. Supervise, mentor, and develop senior and staff accountants, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Coordinate engagement workflows, manage budgets, set deadlines, and handle scheduling effectively. Conduct thorough research and resolve complex federal, state, and multistate tax issues. Collaborate with firm leadership to refine processes and enhance client service delivery. Champion the implementation of technological solutions and best practices to optimize tax engagements. Qualifications A minimum of 4 years of progressive tax experience in a public accounting firm. Active CPA license or in the process of obtaining CPA certification. Proven expertise in preparing and reviewing a range of tax returns for businesses, partnerships, corporations, and individuals. Strong understanding of U.S. federal and state tax compliance regulations. Experience in supervising and reviewing the work of senior and staff accountants. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tax engagements along with associated deadlines and deliverables. Proficient in tax and accounting software utilized within a public accounting context. Must reside within commuting distance of Ramsey, New Jersey, and be available to work full-time in the office.
