Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree and active LARA license required (learn more at Michigan’s LARA website).
• Acceptable credentials include:
  • Licensed or limited licensed master’s level psychologist
  • MDE credentialed master’s level school psychologist
  • Licensed or limited licensed master’s level social worker (or bachelor’s level social worker actively enrolled in or planning to enroll in relevant master’s-level programs within 24 months of hire)
  • Licensed master’s level marriage and family therapist
  • Licensed or limited licensed master’s level professional counselor
  • School Counselor License, Michigan Teaching Certificate with school counselor endorsement, Preliminary School Counselor Credential, or Temporary School Counselor License (must pursue appropriate LARA counseling licensure within 24 months of hire)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct social-emotional support to students through individual and group interventions.
• Implement and provide professional learning for staff around positive behavior and mental health programming.
• Serve as a resource for schools and classrooms, adapting to support evolving student and staff needs throughout the academic year.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of services and interventions.
