Travel Registered Nurse

The position involves working in a clinical support unit. Traveling nurses will be floated to various facilities within the region. Common patient diagnoses include post-operative, orthopedic, neurological, medical, and oncology cases. Patients in the ED hold areas include those with CVA/TIA, chest pain, abdominal pain, and CHF among others. Nurses are required to titrate medications including heparin and insulin drips. Charge nurses are present on all shifts and units. There will be nursing assistants or patient care techs available with varying ratios depending on the unit. Monitoring technicians assist with telemetry, but nurses must interpret their own strips. Shifts are set to 7 PM to 7 AM, with weekend requirements in place. There is no on-call or standby requirement for this position. Travelers will receive assignments via an application one hour before their shifts. A professional dress code is enforced, but there are no specific scrub color requirements. There is a robust support culture within the unit, creating a collaborative work environment.
