Sr UX Researcher

Customer(tobacco industry) is standing up an experience-led operating model to improve adoption, clarity, and outcomes across priority internal sales initiatives. The Senior UX Researcher will provide embedded, pragmatic research that quickly identifies where experiences break down, what users need, and what improvements will deliver measurable impact.
This role is designed for quick wins and delivery acceleration: rapid discovery, usability audits, and continuous feedback loops that inform Experience Design (XD), Adoption Experience (AX), and Sale Experience Realization (TxR). It is not an academic research role; it is a hands-on, outcome-driven role.
Duties and Responsibilities
1.Rapid Discovery & Persona Foundations
o Conduct lightweight discovery to validate key user segments and contexts (field, internal sales, and partner workflows) and translate findings into practical personas and needs.
o Establish shared language for user goals, constraints, and success measures across teams.
2.Usability Audits & Quick-Hit Recommendations
o Perform usability and heuristic evaluations of priority tools and workflows to identify friction, confusion, and adoption barriers.
o Deliver concise, prioritized recommendations that can be actioned quickly by XD and TxR.
3.Evaluation of In-Flight Work (Build-Aligned Research)
o Run fast, iterative testing (concept tests, moderated/unmoderated usability sessions, prototype tests) aligned to delivery timelines.
o Provide evidence-based guidance to prevent rework and ensure experiences are ready to adopt at launch.
4.Insight-to-Action Enablement
o Translate research findings into clear, decision-ready outputs (insight briefs, opportunity statements, experience principles, acceptance criteria inputs).
o Partner with designers to ensure research is incorporated into flows, patterns, and design system decisions.
5. Adoption-Informed Experience (with AX)
o Collaborate with Adoption Experience (AX) to identify confidence, readiness, and behavior-change risks early.
o Help shape messaging, readiness activities, and reinforcement loops based on real user sentiment and barriers.
6. Research Operations (Lightweight, Practical)
o Establish a simple cadence and repository for research learnings (e.g., Confluence) so insights are reusable and do not live only in meetings.
o Define a lightweight research intake and prioritization approach aligned to Internal sales priorities.

Required Skills (Must-Haves)
• Applied qualitative research: Strong interviewing, contextual inquiry, diary/intercept methods as appropriate; ability to synthesize quickly.
• Usability testing: Ability to plan and run usability studies with prototypes and live tools; translate findings into clear recommendations.
• Rapid synthesis & prioritization: Can produce concise insight briefs and "top friction points" without lengthy cycles.
• Stakeholder partnership: Trusted facilitator who can work credibly with business partners and technology teams.
• Communication: Clear, crisp storytelling; able to present findings and tradeoffs in executive-ready language.
• Collaboration with design: Comfortable pairing with designers to turn insights into flows, patterns, and decision criteria.
• Documentation discipline: Ability to maintain research repository and decisions in Confluence and coordinate work in Jira.
Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Haves)
• Experience researching field-enablement tools, CRM/Salesforce workflows, or distributed/field user populations.
• Familiarity with design systems as a consumer of patterns and standards.
• Comfort with mixed-methods (surveys, analytics-informed research) to complement qualitative work.
What Success Looks Like After 6 Months
• Practical light-personas and user context insights exist and are actively used by XD, AX, and TxR.
• 2-3 high-impact usability audits completed, with prioritized recommendations adopted into delivery.
• Research is embedded into delivery cycles (prototype testing and pre-launch validation) to reduce rework and improve adoption readiness.
• A lightweight research cadence and repository is established so insights are reusable and scalable.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $85.00/hr.
