Head of Finance

Location: Remote (Los Angeles, New York City, or Miami preferred)

About the Company

A rapidly growing, better-for-you food brand is seeking a Head of Finance to build and lead its finance function. With national retail distribution and ambitious expansion plans, the company is looking for a hands-on finance leader who can establish financial processes, manage day-to-day accounting, and partner directly with the CEO on strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Own all accounting and finance operations, including A/P, A/R, general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting.

• Build and implement financial controls, accounting processes, and reporting systems to support growth.
\n
• Manage cash flow, forecasting, budgeting, and working capital requirements.
\n
• Oversee cost accounting, COGS, inventory valuation, and profitability analysis across SKUs, channels, and retailers.
\n
• Manage trade spend accruals, deductions, and promotional expenses.
\n
• Prepare financial statements, budget variance analyses, and board/investor reporting.
\n
• Support fundraising, financial modeling, banking relationships, and financing initiatives.
\n
• Evaluate and implement financial systems and technology, including ERP and accounting platforms.
\n
• Ensure tax compliance and build out the finance team as the business scales.

Qualifications

\n
• 8–12+ years of accounting and finance experience, preferably within food, beverage, or CPG.
\n
• Experience building or leading a finance function in a startup or high-growth environment.
\n
• Strong hands-on accounting background, including financial close, reporting, and internal controls.
\n
• Understanding of CPG financial operations, including trade spend, deductions, inventory, and co-manufacturing costs.
\n
• Experience with cash flow management, financial modeling, and budgeting.
\n
• Ability to balance strategic financial leadership with day-to-day execution.
\n
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.
\n
• Experience with fundraising, investor reporting, ERP implementation, or cross-border operations is a plus.
