Description

• Conduct evaluations on patients across different age groups, employing both standardized tests and observational techniques.
• Create individualized treatment plans to address immediate goals and broader communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
• Implement one-on-one speech therapy designed to improve language, fluency, vocalization, and swallowing capabilities.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members, to create integrated care plans.
• Educate patients and their families to support progress beyond the clinical environment.
• Occasionally assist in inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring a seamless care process.
• Ensure accurate and prompt documentation in line with organizational, state, and federal regulations.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay at the forefront of your field through continued education and peer interaction.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
• Completion of an accredited Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• Active state licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of starting work.
