Step into a dynamic educational environment as a contract middle school science teacher, supporting general education classes onsite in a vibrant school setting near West Chester, PA. This full-time position (35 hours per week) begins as soon as possible and extends through June 10, 2027. You’ll take charge of a single middle school science caseload, primarily working with general education students. While some students may have special education needs, each will have assigned SPED support to ensure all learners thrive.
Your expertise in instructional strategies and classroom management will be key to maintaining a positive and productive learning atmosphere. Strong content knowledge and familiarity with current state and district standards are crucial, as is the ability to develop creative lesson plans, use formative assessment, and adapt teaching to meet diverse student needs.
Qualifications:
- Current active teaching certification/licensure (required for caseload)
- Bachelor’s degree (necessary for emergency teaching permit)
- Prior school-based teaching experience
- Proficiency in classroom and behavioral management, especially in urban settings
- Ability to create standards-aligned lesson plans
- Comfortable working in a district and location with a diverse student population
- Valid PA clearances or ability to obtain them
- Must have reliable transportation for daily commute
- Availability to work onsite, Monday through Friday, 8:30AM-4PM, with no schedule accommodations
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging science lessons to middle school students
- Foster a supportive, well-managed classroom environment
- Collaborate with SPED teachers as needed
- Assess and track student progress, differentiating instruction appropriately
- Participate in Zoom interview as part of the hiring process
