Make an immediate impact as a contract Special Education Teacher in a vibrant and supportive elementary school setting. This is a full-time opportunity designed for an educator dedicated to fostering growth and learning for students with unique needs. Work in a collaborative environment onsite, helping shape a positive educational experience for children at Main Street Elementary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligning with current state and district standards
- Utilize formative assessment and differentiation to drive instruction
- Maintain a mastery of subject matter, instructional skills, and curriculum resources
- Deliver engaging instruction while managing classrooms and student behaviors effectively
- Adapt strategies to meet the needs of a diverse caseload in an urban school environment
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to maximize student success
Desired Qualifications:
- Active certification or licensure as required for managing assigned caseload
- Bachelor’s degree (essential for securing an emergency teaching permit)
- Previous experience working in schools, preferably in an urban context
- Proven strength in classroom and behavioral management
- Able to complete all required Pennsylvania clearances
- Reliable transportation to and from the school for punctuality and consistency
- Comfortable with district standards, school culture, and location
- Available to work onsite Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM–4:00 PM, without accommodation for alternate schedules
