Screens, directs and dispatches and documents communications. Annual base salary of $40,672 with full benefits package ; Official transcripts required prior to employment; Candidate recommended for hire will be subject to pre-employment screenings; Triton College is an Equal Opportunity Employer Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred Certification: Must successfully complete the Illinois State Police LEADS training in no later than 6 months Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of law experience preferred Knowledge: A working knowledge of law enforcement policies and communications procedures is preferred; Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work both independently and in a team environment, ability to work in high stress situations and work well under pressure, excellent customer service skills Responds to incoming telephone calls involving various types of emergency and police situations to the police department dispatching officers, giving instructions and answering general questions. Monitors and responds to alarms, leads, and other police/fire bands. Monitors detainee via camera and occasionally searches persons. Assists records room personnel. Performs clerical work such as filling out property reports, maintaining logs, leads files and daily log. Acts as a liaison between Campus Police department and other departments. Equipment Operated: telephone, typewriter, computer, police radio, dictaphone, VCR , public address system, alarm boards, ID camera equipment, CCTV system, demagnetizer, TDD machine Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
