Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accountant for a client in the Tulsa area. This is an immediate opportunity for an accounting professional who can take ownership of day-to-day accounting functions and contribute to accurate, timely financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will have well-rounded accounting experience, strong Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable knowledge, hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and the ability to independently research and resolve accounting discrepancies. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, organized, and comfortable working independently while managing multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily Accounts Payable (A/P) activities, including invoice processing, coding, verification, and payment preparation
• Manage Accounts Receivable (A/R) activities, including invoicing, payment application, account monitoring, and follow-up
• Perform bank and account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in QuickBooks Online
• Prepare, review, and record journal entries as needed
• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset records
• Calculate and record depreciation
• Assist with and complete month-end and year-end closing activities
• Review financial transactions for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and unusual transactions
• Analyze financial information and identify potential errors, inconsistencies, or areas requiring attention
• Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation and supporting records
• Assist with financial reporting and other accounting-related analysis as needed
• Work closely with management and other departments to resolve accounting and financial issues
• Perform additional accounting duties and special projects as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Previous accounting experience required
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online required
• Strong understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Experience performing bank and general ledger reconciliations
• Working knowledge of fixed assets and depreciation
• Experience with month-end closing procedures
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to analyze and manipulate financial data
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to identify discrepancies and independently research and resolve issues
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with QuickBooks Online in a full-cycle accounting environment
• Experience preparing or assisting with financial statements and management reports
• Experience with general ledger accounting and journal entries
• Experience supporting audits or financial reviews
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required with strong relevant experience

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in QuickBooks Online and Excel, has strong attention to detail, and can recognize problems, investigate the underlying cause, and determine an appropriate solution without requiring constant supervision.
