Senior QA Engineer IIThe Senior QA Engineer II will lead quality efforts across products supporting healthcare providers, patient workflows, and diagnostic reporting. The role combines hands-on testing with technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration throughout the product development lifecycle. You will shape risk-based test strategies, strengthen automation, and improve quality standards across teams. The position covers web and mobile applications, REST APIs, backend services, accessibility, and CI/CD workflows. You will help identify systemic quality risks, lead root cause analysis, and drive improvements through completion. Working in a fully remote environment, you will also mentor colleagues and help build a strong culture of shared quality ownership.Accountabilities:Partner with product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle.Analyze requirements, architecture, interfaces, integrations, and dependencies to create comprehensive, risk-based testing strategies.Define and continuously improve QA standards, testing practices, processes, strategies, test plans, cases, and supporting documentation.Perform manual and automated testing across web and mobile applications, including exploratory, functional, acceptance, regression, end-to-end, and UI testing.Test native and cross-platform mobile applications across devices, operating-system versions, screen sizes, and network conditions.Develop and advance test automation standards, coverage, reliability, maintainability, and execution speed, integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.Test REST APIs and backend services for correctness, reliability, and resilience.Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects and quality risks through resolution, while leading root cause analysis and preventive actions.Communicate test strategies, quality risks, release readiness, and technical tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical audiences.Identify systemic quality and process issues and coordinate practical improvements through completion.Mentor engineers and other team members, strengthening QA capabilities and shared ownership of quality.Evaluate applications against accessibility standards such as WCAG using manual and automated testing approaches.Contribute to performance and security testing according to product risks and team priorities.Requirements:7+ years of professional software quality assurance experience, with demonstrated success leading quality initiatives across cross-functional teams.Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, test design techniques, and risk-based testing for complex systems.Solid understanding of web and mobile technologies, client-server architecture, APIs, integrations, and system dependencies.Hands-on experience testing native or cross-platform iOS and Android applications across different devices, operating systems, screen sizes, and network conditions.Experience testing REST APIs and backend services.Proficiency in at least one programming language such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Java.Experience developing or improving test automation frameworks, standards, coverage, reliability, and maintainability.Experience with modern web or mobile automation frameworks and CI/CD integration.Knowledge of accessibility testing and WCAG, including tools such as Axe, Lighthouse, or screen readers.Experience with defect tracking and test-management tools such as Jira within an Agile environment.Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain quality risks and technical tradeoffs to diverse audiences.Proven ability to drive cross-functional quality and process improvements through completion.Experience mentoring technical and non-technical colleagues and developing quality capabilities across teams.Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.Self-directed, organized, collaborative, and comfortable taking ownership in a continuously evolving environment.Benefits:Base salary of $165,000–$185,000, depending on experience and geographic location.Fully remote position in the United States, with a preference for candidates able to work Pacific Time hours for team collaboration.Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, including mental health support.401(k) retirement savings plan with pre-tax contribution options; no current employer matching contribution.Flexible vacation policy designed to support time away and wellbeing.Free whole-body scans for eligible team members as part of a preventative healthcare focus.Opportunities for professional growth and career development, with flexibility to shape your career path.Regular opportunities for team connection, collaboration, and social interaction.Work with modern healthcare technology, quality engineering practices, automation, and cross-functional teams.Opportunity to contribute to products designed to support proactive healthcare and patient outcomes.Equal-opportunity environment with a commitment to diversity and inclusion.Employment is subject to applicable background-check requirements.Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require current or future visa sponsorship.
