Vice President of Business Development

Top Talent is recruiting an experienced VP Enterprise Business Development Executive for a rapidly growing, established freight brokerage and 3PL. This is not a 100-cold-calls-a-day sales role. We are looking for a sophisticated transportation professional who can sit across the table from a CEO, CFO, or VP of Supply Chain, understand their transportation network, and develop strategic solutions. The company has been in business for more than 20 years and is experiencing significant growth—revenue is expected to double in size this year. Even more compelling: the company has approximately 180 active customer accounts, yet only a small percentage are fully penetrated. The opportunity is both to win new enterprise customers and expand existing relationships into larger managed transportation partnerships. What You'll Do Develop new enterprise transportation and logistics customers. Sell managed transportation, LTL, truckload, and broader 3PL solutions. Leverage executive-level introductions to major prospective customers. Identify additional opportunities within existing accounts. Conduct strategic discovery around transportation spend, pain points, and network requirements. Maintain senior-level customer relationships while experienced Account Managers handle day-to-day execution. Participate in QBRs and strategic customer meetings. Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events. What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of transportation/logistics experience and a demonstrated record of strategic business development. Experience with managed transportation, 3PL, LTL, truckload, transportation technology or enterprise supply-chain solutions is highly desirable. More importantly, we're looking for someone who: Can sell effectively to C-suite and senior supply-chain executives. Can uncover and solve complex transportation problems. Has strong hunter instincts without relying solely on high-volume cold calling. Can expand wallet share within existing strategic accounts. Has executive presence and can be a face of the organization. Is entrepreneurial, competitive, and highly self-directed. Still has the desire to personally build business rather than simply manage other salespeople. Why Consider It?
