Development Manager

Position Summary This role focuses on advancing philanthropic initiatives at assigned community hospital as well as system-wide projects and priorities of the ECU Health Foundation. Key responsibilities include soliciting donations from individual and corporate donors, managing special events, and cultivating and stewarding donor relationships. The position also requires maintaining a portfolio that balances both lead annual giving and major donor-level contributions, and is responsible for the management of the local development council. Responsibilities Fundraising Responsible for identification, cultivation and stewardship of donors and prospects for local community hospital to provide philanthropic support for fundraising initiatives and special events. Collaborate with local hospital personnel for grateful patient referrals and development of cultivation strategies as appropriate. Coordinate with ECU Health Foundation teams (operations, donor relations, annual fund, etc.) to execute philanthropic needs of identified fundraising initiatives/special projects. Assist third party organizations with fundraising efforts that benefit local community hospital. Represent local community hospital at various business, civic and social functions as approved or directed. Oversee local team member giving activities as directed. Engage in research efforts to identify grant opportunities, such as those provided by private or corporate foundations. Assist with writing and compiling grant proposals to secure funding for approved fundraising initiatives. These tasks are performed under the guidance of the Executive Director, Health Care Philanthropy and/or Director of Development, Community Hospitals and in collaboration with the Director of the Grants Office. Works with Manager of Donor Relations to provide content for assigned community hospital, special programs or projects to help develop strategies to increase awareness of the identified areas resulting in additional revenue. Collaborate with Donor Relations team to identify stories of philanthropic impact within assigned community hospital for ongoing content development to be used for website, social media and other collateral materials. Manage oversight of local development council activities including scheduling meetings, creating agendas in coordination with the council chair and Director of Development, Community Hospitals, taking minutes and other duties as assigned. Administrative Understand and utilize Salesforce Database. Process fundraising related expenses. Process transmittals for local donations received while following ECU Health Foundation gift processing guidelines. Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations. Understand fundraising budgets and ensure proper return on investment when developing development strategies. Attend meetings as directed to provide updates and reports. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree. Minimum of 2 years of related experience; major gifts cultivation preferred. Clear understanding of the role of philanthropy in health care and/or educational institutions. Skilled development professional with progressively increased responsibilities and a proven track record of soliciting and securing major gifts and working effectively with volunteers. Excellent organizational skills and a client/customer orientation. Persuasive oral and written communication skills are required. Job Knowledge & Skills Works well with donors, volunteers, executive leadership, physician leadership and other administration. Must possess excellent organizational skills and solid knowledge of fundraising. Computer skills are essential and include word processing, spreadsheet creation/management, database management, fundraising software, planned giving software and other relevant software packages. Pay Range: $68,806.40 - $100,294.48 Other Information Hybrid role (based out of Kenansville, NC) Monday - Friday day shift: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Nights & weekends required, as needed, for special events Great Benefits About ECU Health Duplin Hospital ECU Health Duplin Hospital is an 81-bed facility located in Kenansville, North Carolina.
