Make a meaningful impact in the lives of high school students by supporting and empowering learners in a dedicated resource room environment. With both full-time (40 hours) and part-time (20 hours) contract options available, you’ll provide vital academic, social-emotional, and behavioral support in a high school near Detroit, MI, starting September 8, 2026.

In this role, you’ll serve a caseload of approximately 14–20 students (9th grade or 10th–12th grade) or, for the part-time schedule, about 10 students. You’ll have flexibility with AM or PM shifts for part-time, allowing you to find a work-life balance that fits your needs. Whether you’re most passionate about fostering foundational academic skills, guiding social-emotional growth, or implementing effective behavior interventions, your expertise will be valued and celebrated in this inclusive educational setting.

Key Qualifications:

• Prior special education teaching experience is highly valued
• Michigan Special Education Certification preferred
• Open to candidates with Substitute Special Education Certification
• Strong commitment to student advocacy and individualized instruction
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues and families

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support for students in the resource room
• Develop and implement strategies for academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
• Establish positive relationships with students and foster an inclusive classroom culture
• Work closely with school staff and families to promote student success
