About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical - Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of recent experience required License: Compact license accepted (must be obtained prior to start) Certifications: BLS, CPI preferred, NIHSS Must-Have: - Nurse to patient ratios 1:6 - Epic charting experience - CPI Certification preferred - Ability to float to like units Description: This position is for a registered nurse in the medical surgical neuro specialty. The nurse will work 12-hour shifts during the day. The schedule may include weekends, requiring 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period. The unit consists of 32 beds and maintains a daily census of 32 patients. The registered nurse will be responsible for administering blood products, managing central lines, and providing care for various medical conditions including CVA and renal failure. Other duties include managing feeding tubes, surgical drains, and wound care. Interdisciplinary support will be available from various services such as physical therapy and pharmacy. The nurse will be expected to activate rapid response teams as needed. Travelers are required to float to like units based on facility needs. The candidate should have experience with high flow nasal cannula and oxygen management. Experience in phlebotomy and PICC line management is also required.
