Senior Client & Business Development Manager - Energy Sector

We are partnered with a leading global law firm in its search for a Senior Business Development Manager to support its market-leading Energy sector. This is a sector-based, global role with a strong client-facing focus, incorporating strategic client development, integrated marketing campaigns, and profile-raising initiatives alongside core business development responsibilities. Based in New York or Washington, DC, you will play a critical role in driving the strategic priorities of the global Energy sector, working closely with sector leadership, partners, and the wider global Marketing & Business Development function to enhance client engagement and support sustained growth. We are keen to connect with experienced Business Development and Marketing professionals from within a law firm or professional services environment. Prior exposure to the Energy sector—or adjacent areas such as infrastructure, renewables, oil & gas, or the energy transition—will be highly advantageous. We are open to individuals stepping into a Senior Manager role for the first time, as well as established Senior Managers seeking a broader, more strategic global remit. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead and execute the global business development strategy for the Energy sector, aligning with firmwide priorities and sector growth ambitions Drive strategic client development initiatives, using market insights to identify opportunities and deepen relationships across key accounts Oversee the delivery of high-quality, tailored pitches, proposals, and RFP responses, ensuring alignment with client needs and sector trends Spearhead profile-raising initiatives, including thought leadership, campaigns, events, and sponsorships to strengthen market positioning Lead marketing and campaign activity across the sector, ensuring a coordinated and impactful global approach Act as a key liaison between partners, sector leadership, and global BD and marketing teams to foster collaboration and integrated client solutions Manage and mentor BD professionals, supporting their development and driving a high-performance culture Monitor performance through reporting, client feedback, and KPIs to continuously refine BD activity and drive results This is an exciting opportunity to take on a highly visible, strategic role within a globally recognised sector team.
