About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ Years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Medical ICU experience in a large facility. Comfortable with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management. Must be a critical thinker, flexible, and work well with others. Advanced skills needed in ventilator management, critical care pharmacology, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and central line management. Description: The position requires assisting providers with bedside procedures as needed, such as chest tube insertion and intubations. The unit has a patient ratio of 2:1 for ICU and 4-5:1 for PCU. Staffing includes a Charge RN and five staff RNs per shift. The type of equipment used includes lift equipment, targeted temperature management, ventilators, and IV pumps. Documentation is completed using a specific electronic health record system. Twelve-hour shifts are mandatory, with requirements for every other weekend and holiday support. Float policies are in place, and travelers will be required to float as needed. Bedside shift report is mandatory in all areas of the facility. The relief charge nurse will be expected to perform nurse leader rounding as part of their responsibilities. Candidates should be aware of the department's advancements in new equipment and technology and the tenure and experience of the staff. A collaborative working environment is emphasized, fostering teamwork and shared responsibility in patient care.
