Senior Sales Development Representative

It is one of the least digitised industries in the world but also the largest 1 in 9 people globally work in the construction industry and it constitutes 11% of global GDP.

We got our start as a high-end construction project management consultancy. As a consultancy, we are focused on genuinely upgrading the way construction projects are delivered. We then take the deep understanding of the projects we work on to develop construction management software products that anyone can use to deliver their projects better.

We are building a full suite of products one module at a time kind of like Office 365 but for construction management.

The core of all this is our true secret sauce; people. We only recruit the very best both in capability and personality. The Role

Purpose of the role

As a Senior Sales Development Representative you'll be at the forefront of building Shape's pipeline - not just executing outreach, but helping define how we do it.

You'll take ownership of generating high-quality opportunities, refining messaging, and influencing how we scale our go-to-market approach. Over time, there is scope to grow into a broader, more strategic role as the function evolves.

Team

You'll be part of our Growth team, working closely with sales, marketing, and product experts. Together, we tell Shape's story to the world and build connections with those who haven't yet experienced how game-changing our platform is.

Your top 4 responsibilities

  • Open doors: You will proactively identify and reach out to construction teams, introducing them to Shape and setting up intro calls that help them understand how our product can transform their project delivery performance. You must be very comfortable and confident doing cold calls - indeed you must love it!
  • Refine our outreach strategy: Using data and insights, you'll continuously improve our approach, experimenting with messaging, channels, and engagement tactics to maximize impact.
  • Collaborate with the team: You'll work closely with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align efforts, share feedback, and ensure we're reaching the right people in the right way.
  • Grow yourself and others: We're big on learning and development. You'll have the opportunity to sharpen your sales skills, share best practices, and contribute to building a world-class growth function.
  • Shape how we scale: Bring your experience building outreach processes and systems to help us refine our SDR engine as we expand our consulting service lines and client base.

Your Capabilities

You are a high-energy, people-focused sales person who sees sales as a way of helping people, not extracting money out of them. You know how to connect with people, ask the right questions, and spark interest in a way that feels natural. You're not just here to sell - you're here to help potential customers see how we can transform the way they work.

As a candidate, you should have:

  • Mastery: Experience in B2B sales, ideally in ideally SaaS or construction tech. You understand how to engage decision-makers and guide them through a sales process.
  • Communication: A confident and engaging communicator. You know how to make complex ideas simple and compelling. You're comfortable talking to both hands-on construction teams and senior business leaders, and you build relationships through a humanistic, empathetic approach - because our customers aren't just numbers!
  • Leadership: You take ownership. You're unafraid of rejection, don't take "no" as the end of the conversation, and you enjoy experimenting with new ways to connect and add value.
  • Impact: You can read between the lines, spot opportunities, and adapt your approach based on what's working. You don't just book meetings - you open doors.

Nice to Have (If you don't have it now you will after joining):

  • Mastery: Experience with full-cycle/360 sales exposure. If you're not an expert in construction or digital project delivery yet, you will be! We'll give you the tools and knowledge to speak the industry's language.
  • Communication: A master in the art of influencing and persuasion with an extensive network in the construction and/or tech start-up industries.
  • Leadership: Early leadership or people management exposure - experience coaching or mentoring others. We're growing fast, and we want our best SDRs to step up and take on bigger responsibilities. If you're ambitious, there's a clear path to more.
  • Impact: Beyond just hitting targets, you'll play a key role in shaping how construction teams adopt technology. The relationships you build and the insights you gather will help refine our approach and drive real change in the industry.
