Manager, Communications

Role Description

• Oversee strategic communication including the development and coordination of all communications programs to promote and further the organization’s objectives.
• Develop and maintain consistent approaches to managing corporate and cross line of business project communication needs to multiple audiences.
• Lead the development and review of communication plans and related materials as part of integrated communications to key multiple stakeholder audiences, supporting brand awareness, sales growth and retention, and overall support for corporate projects.
• Ensure brand is reflected in communication plan tactics and key messaging; ensure project-related copy is written following brand copy guidelines.
• Lead day to day operations in areas including social media, leadership, cause marketing, and line of business-specific communication needs.
• Assist in developing integrated messaging for projects and manage overall cross line of business communications.
• Stay current with new technology and marketing tools.
• Consult with internal and external partners to project the corporate message to both external and internal audiences through social media channels.
• Oversee the analysis of responses to social media activities and make recommendations.
• Represent the company message to online communities, media, analysts, and the general public at large.
• Advise senior management on development of communications policies and programs.
• Assist in the development of the department budget and monitor unit expenses to ensure unit costs are within established levels.
• Ensure effective communications are maintained within the unit and externally. Where appropriate, inform employees as to plans and progress. Conduct employee discussion sessions at regular intervals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of management experience with responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work and managing performance of direct reports.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills as demonstrated by a portfolio of work examples and completed projects.
• Demonstrated creativity and knowledge of community and industry resources and opportunities.
• Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and desktop publishing applications.

Requirements

• Experience working with multiple stakeholders including Executive Leadership, Boards, and project teams.
• Skilled in creating effective content strategies and presentations that tell a story.
• Knowledge of innovations in communication delivery channels.

Benefits

• Compensation range for the role is $73,500.00 - $131,250.00.
• Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
