Electrophysiology Technologist

Assist physicians during EP procedures, including diagnostic studies, ablations, and device implants (pacemaker, ICD, CRT).

Prepare procedure rooms, sterile fields, and specialized EP equipment (recording systems, ablation generators, mapping systems).

Operate and troubleshoot EP monitoring and recording systems, documenting intracardiac signals and procedural data.

Support sterile technique and assist with patient preparation, draping, and positioning.

Monitor patient status during procedures in collaboration with RN and anesthesia teams; promptly escalate clinical changes.

Assist with venous/arterial access setup, catheter preparation, and equipment handling.

Participate in device interrogations, programming support, and post-procedure care as applicable.

Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and EP reporting systems.

Maintain inventory, stock supplies, and ensure readiness of emergency and procedural equipment.

Adhere to radiation safety practices and regulatory standards (Joint Commission, CMS, infection prevention).

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in a health-related field preferred.

Completion of a Cardiovascular Technology, EP Technology, or related program preferred.

Required:

Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association

Preferred:

Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)

Certified Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS)

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
