Position Overview

Crossroad Pain and Orthopedics is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our dynamic team in Riverhead, New York. This full-time role requires an individual committed to providing high-quality orthopedic care in an outpatient setting. Reporting to the Chief Nurse Practitioner and under the guidance of the Medical Director, the NP will play a pivotal role in optimizing patient outcomes in our orthopedic department.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage collaboratively with orthopedic surgeons and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history-taking and physical examinations, to inform clinical decision-making.
• Effectively manage chronic conditions such as hypertension and high cholesterol while providing acute care for complex health issues including coronary artery disease and congestive heart failure.
• Administer outpatient-only electrophysiology services for patients presenting with arrhythmias, providing critical monitoring and intervention.
• Perform and interpret stress testing results, ensuring timely identification of cardiovascular issues.
• Prescribe appropriate medications as needed, adhering to established clinical guidelines and protocols.
• Facilitate patient referrals to specialists within our organization when advanced care is required.
• Deliver education and resources to patients and their families to empower them in managing their health conditions effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The NP will primarily serve a diverse outpatient population, including patients recovering from orthopedic surgery, those with chronic pain conditions, and individuals suffering from various cardiovascular issues. By focusing on preventative care and education, the NP will help patients take an active role in their health, ultimately leading to improved quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• A Master’s or Doctoral degree is highly preferred.
• Current and valid nurse practitioner license in the state of New York.
• Certification relevant to the field, demonstrating mastery of necessary clinical competencies.

Preferred Experience

• Prior clinical experience in an orthopedic practice, either in an inpatient or outpatient capacity.
• Familiarity with pain management techniques, electrophysiology, and urgent care practices.
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems to document patient care effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 120,000 to USD 160,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include:
