Full-Time Vice-President Position - 2027 StartA G2 Vice-President is involved in every step of our processes and will:Conduct industry deep-dives to map new sub-sectors and identify areas of potential valueDevelop and own thematic investment theses aligned with G2's focus areasSource and evaluate deals by building a pipeline of promising opportunitiesLead diligence workstreams, including market analysis, competitive benchmarking, financial modeling, and technology assessmentsDrive investment memos and presentations, preparing and defending recommendations during Investment Committee discussionsSupport portfolio companies post-investment through strategic projects and operational support, often as active Board ObserversBuild and leverage a strong network of founders, investors, and industry experts to enhance sourcing and diligence effortsRepresent G2 externally at conferences, demo days, and other industry eventsA successful G2 Vice-President will:Exhibit sharp investment judgment, with the ability to independently form and defend a point of view on markets, technologies, and companiesBe relentlessly curious and enjoy going deep on complex industries, business models, and emerging technologiesBe an effective deal athlete - able to lead analyses, anticipate risks, and drive processes forward with limited oversightBe a clear and compelling communicator, synthesizing complex information into concise investment theses for internal and external audiencesBe self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful — take ownership of workstreams, find answers without being told where to look, and move projects to completionDemonstrate a "whatever it takes" mentality, including the willingness to work through ambiguity and tackle unglamorous tasks to get to the right answerShow genuine passion for sustainability-focused technology businesses and alignment with G2's missionBe self-motivated and take initiative in seeking ways to contribute; tackle challenges and improve processes without being askedIf you want to learn about venture capital and growth investing in sustainability technology companies, there is no better job. You will get to see everything.We are looking for candidates who have:At least four years of work experience requiring critical analysis of business models and financial projections. Investing, banking, or consulting experience preferredEstablished record as a curious "self-starter"Strong organizational skills, excellent analytical reasoning, and an ability to present complex ideas and information in simple, persuasive form, both written and oralGenuine passion for investing, the entrepreneurial process, and sustainabilityDesire to be a connector / develop a robust network, and work in a collaborative, trust-based team environmentProfessional and personal maturity that demonstrates unquestionable integrity and sound business instinctsFull-time starting late Summer 2027.Our office is in Portola Valley, California.
