Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial evaluations and ongoing assessments of clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health.

• Develop and implement tailored intervention and recovery strategies for individuals, couples, families, and groups based on specific clinical needs.

• Lead individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based practices and maintaining client engagement.
\n
• Monitor client progress throughout treatment, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans in collaboration with fellow healthcare professionals.

• Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, primary care doctors, and other mental health specialists to coordinate client care and address complex cases.

• Provide client referrals to additional resources when necessary, especially for specialized needs or hospitalization.

• Facilitate family sessions to educate and empower family members in managing mental health challenges and recovery processes.

• Document all aspects of client care, including progress notes and treatment updates, adhering to compliance standards and confidentiality guidelines.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at New Pattern Counseling Center, you will serve a diverse client base that includes individuals facing various mental health disorders, emotional challenges, and substance use issues. Our clients come from various backgrounds, and your expertise will be essential in providing culturally competent care, ensuring they feel understood and supported throughout their treatment journey.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited program.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, such as LMFT, LPC, or LCSW, in the state of New Jersey.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrated proficiency with electronic health record systems, including familiarity with platforms like AVATAR, for effective documentation and case management.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear and compassionate interactions with clients.

• A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current on mental health care best practices.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years’ experience in a mental health counseling role, demonstrating a solid track record of successful client outcomes.

• Experience in dealing with a range of conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD, and addiction issues.

• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and guidelines to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.

• Knowledge of pharmacological treatments prescribed by medical professionals to understand their implications for client therapy and care.
