ProActive Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist to join our team in Tallahassee, Florida. You will be primarily working in home care settings, providing personalized therapeutic services to patients in the comfort of their homes.

Work Environment

The position is based onsite at the patient's home, providing the unique opportunity to engage with clients in their own environment, which can significantly enhance the therapeutic process. ProActive Physical Therapy values flexibility; therefore, the working schedule entails Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional adjustments to accommodate the needs of our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at improving patients' mobility, strength, and overall functionality.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify patients' needs and incorporate findings into tailored exercise and rehabilitation programs.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and a variety of activities designed to alleviate pain and promote physical well-being.
• Educate patients and their families on effective body mechanics, proper exercise techniques, and home exercise regimens to support ongoing recovery beyond clinical sessions.
• Administer therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, with a focus on best practice standards.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, noting improvements in range of motion, strength, and functional capabilities.
• Maintain organized treatment areas, ensuring that therapeutic equipment is prepared and accessible for each session.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team—including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists—to ensure a holistic approach to patient care that optimizes treatment outcomes.
• Provide emotional support and motivation to patients, nurturing a positive atmosphere throughout their rehabilitation journeys.
• Adhere strictly to ethical standards, always prioritizing the confidentiality and dignity of patients.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
• A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Florida.
• At least one year of experience in physical therapy is preferred, ideally with exposure to home care environments.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with experience in varied rehabilitation settings—such as sports and geriatrics—will be highly regarded. Familiarity with assessment techniques and modern therapeutic modalities will enhance your application.

Compensation and Benefits
