What will you do as a PMC Billing Associate: As a PMC Billing Associate you will be required to have a working knowledge of the following processes: Charge Entry, Payment Posting, Denial Resolution, and Registration. Position may assist with document scanning, and can fill in other duties as assigned. Must be flexible as position is diversified and may require assisting with multiple assignments on any given day. A day in the life of a PMC Billing Associate may include: Responsible for following up on unpaid insurance claims, as needed. Responsible for providing a personal and unified effort to assist patients with questions they might have regarding their accounts, as needed. Responsible for checking for correctness and completeness of physician generated charges prior to them being posted and processing of these charges into the billing system, as needed. Registers all hospital charges received from FirstHealth Hospitals, Central Carolina Hospital, as well as EKGs performed at Pinehurst Surgical Clinic. Hospital EKGs and other diagnostic tests are registered from a daily report generated by FirstHealth and/or Central Carolina. Demographic and insurance information is verified using the hospital system. Ensures each patient is identified in the PMC billing system by Name, DOB, and/or SSN. Ensure the account number is written on each hospital charge ticket, along with the patient’s status and their insurance information. Scans the charge tickets to shared folders for Coding Team. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications One to two-year experience in a medical office setting.
