Sous Chef

Position Title Sous Chef Salary $80,000 to $90,000 Company Overview Union Square Events is part of Restaurant Associates, a leading provider of dining and event catering for prestigious museums, performing arts centers, and corporations. Job Summary As the Sous Chef, you will oversee the successful operation of the Culinary Department, ensuring quality, safety, and effective collaboration with the Executive and Production Chefs. A management role that nurtures company core values and the F&B program. Assist with implementing new recipes, culinary activations, and menu items in collaboration with the Executive Production Chef. Direct production and on‑site execution of new recipes with the Executive Chef. Facilitate and conduct training with the Executive Chef for BOH teams. Maintain quality control and production standards collaboratively with the Executive Chef. Support special projects, including tasting events, high‑level production, media requests, promotions, and photo shoots. Ensure safe food preparation practices and emergency preparedness requirements are met. Key Responsibilities Successful culinary production operation under the direction of the Executive Chef. Adhere to HACCP guidelines for efficient, safe, and sanitary food production, preparation, and presentation. Assist in menu development, inventory, ordering/purchasing, food cost controls, training, sanitation, counseling, coaching, and development. Preferred Qualifications AOS Degree in Culinary Arts or culinary certificate. Minimum of two to three years of culinary/kitchen experience, depending on formal degree or training. ServSafe Certified.
