Contract Analyst I

Job Overview Under the supervision of the Contracts Services Group Supervisor I, the Analyst I will develop and prepare a diverse workload of contractual agreements ranging from routine to moderately technical and complex. The incumbent will ensure contracts and procurements comply with all applicable laws, regulations, procedures, and department guidelines. Responsibilities Develop and prepare a variety of contractual agreements, from routine to moderately technical and complex. Ensure contracts and procurements comply with applicable laws, regulations, procedures, and department guidelines. Perform less complex duties related to contracts and special projects, including business process improvement and documentation. Contribute to policy and procedure development, training development and facilitation, and change management efforts. Collaborate with stakeholders to support contracting and procurement activities. Qualifications Minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Knowledge of contract law, procurement processes, and related regulations. Strong writing, analytical, and research skills with the ability to produce accurate, clear, concisely written communication. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure. Good judgment and the capacity to meet deadlines. Working Conditions This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment. Salary & Benefits Salary ranges from $3,861.00 to $6,276.00 per month, depending on classification and experience. Location & Travel The Analyst I will be headquartered in Sacramento at the New Labor Agency Building (NLAB). This modern high‑rise building offers amenities such as break areas, wellness rooms, coffee points, a fitness center with private showers, a micro‑market, building‑wide Wi-Fi, an outdoor terrace, bike storage, and proximity to public transit. The role may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule; starting July 1, 2026, the position will require employees to report to the office at least four days per week. Travel to and from the assigned headquarters is the employee’s responsibility.
