Current residency in the Bay Area and experience selling data storage or complex data center solutions required. Role We are seeking energetic and motivated sales professionals with strong hunting skills to join our Account Executive team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of new account or business development experience with a proven track record of selling complex technical solutions. In this role, you will leverage market intelligence resources, customer events, product specialists, partners, and your own professional network to develop new relationships and close business with high‑value pursuit clients. Responsibilities Planning – conduct market and customer research to expand commercial insight necessary to build effective customer call plans and sales strategies (10%) Prospecting and lead management – drive a high volume of high‑value prospecting and business development activities, including lead management, to reach key decision makers/influencers (technical and business) inside pursuit accounts (30%) Selling – drive account strategies and coordinate team selling efforts with partners, specialists, management, and technical resources to close business (50%) Training – complete a rigorous training agenda to become sales proficient with Hitachi Vantara’s solutions and conversant on how Hitachi Vantara delivers business value to customers and prospects (5%) Reporting – manage forecast and update activity plans inside Salesforce (5%) Qualifications Sales experience in infrastructure, data storage, cloud storage, hybrid data center, data management, and other IT services required. Minimum of 5 years of outside sales experience specializing in new logo acquisition and/or new business development. An avid hunter with a proven track record of sourcing new leads and leveraging social networking to access decision‑makers/influencers necessary to close business. Experience selling with top VARs and integrators; subject‑matter expertise in data storage, data management, data analytics, and other IT services. Domain knowledge of large enterprise IT environments and corporate buying centers is critical. Consistent track record of achieving annual quota targets with specific key customer wins. Established sales management process and experience building relationships with management and C‑level executives. Track record of managing and closing complex sales campaigns using outcome and solution selling techniques. Competitive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑growth, matrixed organization. Proficient user of Salesforce and MS Office tools. BA/BS degree or equivalent is desirable. Compensation As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected compensation for this position is approx. $150K base, $300K OTE with uncapped commissions. The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Vantara’s bonus, sales target incentive, or commission pay programs where applicable and are subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
