Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed assessments to identify the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms presented by clients.

• Collaborate with clients to design personalized treatment plans that are tailored to their unique experiences, goals, and preferences.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic methodologies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to treat mood disorders effectively.

• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment pathways, and practical self-care strategies to enhance their understanding and support network.

• Regularly monitor client progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Engage in collaborative care practices with psychiatrists and other health professionals to ensure an integrated and comprehensive approach to patient health.

• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in the treatment of mood disorders to continuously evolve your therapeutic practices.

• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation of client sessions, assessments, and treatment strategies, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines.

• Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development sessions to enhance your clinical skills.

• Advocate for clients by promoting the de-stigmatization of mental health issues and supporting their mental health needs within the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Heartlight Counseling Center serves a wide spectrum of clients, primarily focusing on those affected by mood disorders, including anxiety disorders, depression, and bipolar disorder. Our clientele is as diverse as the communities we serve in Buena Park and beyond. Thus, you will be equipped to handle a variety of individual needs and circumstances, making your role critical in fostering recovery and wellbeing.

Qualifications\n

• A valid California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) is required.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field is mandatory.
\n
• Experience working with diverse populations, particularly involving mood disorders, learning disabilities, and social/emotional challenges.
\n
• Familiarity with California law and professional ethics relevant to mental health practice.
\n
• Successful completion of a background check through the FBI and DOJ.
\n
• Completion of a TB test within the last six months.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Minimum of three years of experience in a clinical setting providing mental health counseling, specifically with populations affected by mood disorders.

• Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques related to addiction and mood disorder treatment.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges from $115,000 to $130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
