Family Matters Care Consultants is actively seeking a full-time Licensed Mental Health Counselor who specializes in trauma care. Effective and empathetic intervention is essential in this role, where you will work primarily with individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma. Work Environment\n

This position is based in San Antonio, Texas, and is primarily remote, allowing for a flexible work-life balance. However, occasional in-office meetings may occur to enhance team cohesion and ensure collaborative care. Our outpatient facility supports a variety of therapeutic activities and has been designed to be a welcoming space for both staff and clients. The expected work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate client needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate clients' histories and formulate appropriate treatment approaches.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that are focused on trauma recovery and resilience, adapting as necessary to meet clients' needs.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in individual and group settings.
\n
• Deliver compassionate individual and group therapy sessions aimed at facilitating trauma processing, coping strategy development, and overall healing.
\n
• Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that our clients receive coordinated and integrated care.
\n
• Provide timely crisis intervention and emotional support during trauma-related emergencies when necessary.
\n
• Educate clients and their families regarding trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and community resources for additional support.
\n
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in adherence to legal and ethical standards to support treatment effectiveness.
\n
• Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and continued education activities centered around trauma-informed care practices.
\n
• Stay informed about the latest advancements in trauma therapy and treatment methodologies to enhance therapeutic outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily be working with individuals who have experienced significant trauma, including, but not limited to, survivors of abuse, neglect, and violence. Your role will be crucial in recognizing the unique challenges faced by trauma survivors and providing them with the support they need for recovery and personal development.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
\n
• Demonstrated expertise in trauma-focused treatment modalities and overall mental health counseling.
\n
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on compassion and understanding.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and strong computer skills for documentation and report generation.
\n
• A collaborative mindset, as you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred, specifically in trauma-focused therapy.

Compensation and Benefits\n
