Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to identify the trauma history of clients and devise individualized treatment plans tailored to their specific needs.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate recovery.

• Provide both individual and group therapy sessions, fostering an environment where patients can share their experiences, learn coping strategies, and find support among their peers.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, medical professionals, and other team members to ensure that each patient receives coordinated care and comprehensive treatment.

• Develop crisis intervention strategies and offer immediate support during trauma-related emergencies to help stabilizing clients in distress.

• Educate clients and their families on trauma responses and recovery pathways, promoting understanding and resilience.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Caring Companions, you will primarily serve individuals grappling with trauma-related disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your role will focus on empowering trauma survivors by helping them navigate their experiences and build resilience through targeted therapeutic practices.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas.

• Strong foundational knowledge in trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment practices.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, marked by empathy and a non-judgmental approach towards patients.

• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-pressure situations.

Preferred Experience\n
