Description
- Conduct assessments on patients of all ages utilizing recognized evaluation methods and observational techniques.
- Create customized treatment plans that cater to immediate needs and future communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver individual speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to ensure holistic care strategies.
- Provide educational resources to patients and their families to foster progress beyond the clinical environment.
- Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions for speech therapy, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
- Document patient progress meticulously to meet state, federal, and organization standards.
- Stay abreast of field advancements through continuous education and collaborative learning with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods suitable for all ages, with a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and collaborative care teams.
- Ability to tailor therapy methods to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Robust clinical reasoning paired with problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable utilizing electronic medical record systems and upholding documentation standards.
