Incident Business Management Specialist (Fire Support)

Summary This position serves as a member of the fire, fuels, and aviation programs staff. This position serves as a regional expert in incident business management functions pertaining to wildland fire and all hazard incidents. Major Duties Duties listed are at the full performance GS-09 grade level. Tracks policy and guideline developments in incident (such as wildland fire, hurricane, flood, and/or earthquake recovery) business and related functions. Plans new methods and procedures designed to improve operations and administrative effectiveness within the staff. Assists with developing incident business related training materials. Participates in formal and informal training opportunities to provide assistance with the presentation of incident business related materials. Assists in the resolution of incident (such as wildland fire, hurricane, flood, and/or earthquake recovery) business management billing and payment issues. Communicates incident business management information amongst internal contacts. Education See above for education that may be qualifying for the specific grade level. Requirements Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt. Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check. Evaluations Applicants will be evaluated in accordance with the category rating procedure defined in the USDA Demonstration Project Plan. Eligible applicants are placed in the Eligible category and may be further evaluated for the Quality category based on experience, education, and/or training.
