RN - Acute Care Surgery Unit

Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care within a surgery unit that exemplifies best practices and outstanding customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory agency standards. Acute care departments include Medical Units, Surgery Units, Emergency Departments, Intensive Care Unit, Childbirth Center, Pediatric Unit, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab.

Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.

Apply new knowledge and skills from ongoing education to improve patient care and promote cost-saving practices.

Make appropriate patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.

Deliver excellent guest relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.

Communicate clearly to manage expectations and provide timely responses to patient needs, ensuring a positive patient experience.

Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.

Prioritize patient and workplace safety by adhering to Just Culture principles, HIPAA, and national safety standards.

Engage in professional growth through leadership opportunities, certifications, advanced degrees, and shared governance.

Foster teamwork by motivating and guiding colleagues, encouraging cooperation, and providing mentoring and feedback.

Graduate of an accredited nursing school or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.

Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications to be obtained and maintained upon hire.

Current active Registered Nurse licensure as required by the state nursing board.

First shift, full-time (36 hours weekly).
