Senior Accountant

Canon USA in Melville, NY is currently seeking a Senior Accountant (Accountant, Sr.). Senior level accounting position responsible for general ledger reconciliations, general ledger analysis and forecasting, assist with reserve valuations, develops procedures, tests account backup, and special projects as assigned. Full‑time hybrid work schedule: office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday; option to work from home the remainder of the week unless a specific business need arises. Work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs. Responsibilities Monthly account reconciliations and analysis Balance sheet trend analysis and reporting Monitor assigned accounts for exposure, report concerns to manager Research and correct account discrepancies Test ledger backup Participate in month‑end close Assist with transmission and reporting of financials Responsible for special projects as required by management Assist with physical inventory and fixed asset audits Support internal and use‑tax audits of fixed assets Assist other department members and managers with projects Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, plus 5 years of related experience Working knowledge of GAAP, including ability to research GAAP and other authoritative pronouncements Strong Excel skills CPA license required Audit experience with a large regional and/or international public accounting firm preferred Strong initiative; ability to bring potential solution options to manager along with issues Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, time‑management and written skills Compensation Anticipated salary range for this role: $76,150 – $114,040.
