Cardiac Surgical (Open Heart) Physician Assistant

Seeking a full time Cardiac Surgical (Open Heart) Physician Assistant to join a great team in the beautiful Miami, FL area

-Full Time (permanent) position

-Hours: M-F 7:00 am - 3:30pm

The Open Heart PA:

-Provides patient care in collaboration with specific surgeons face-to-face or via telehealth on communication devices such as phone or computer.

-Conducts surgical history/physical exams, orders and interprets diagnostic/lab tests and develops plan of care.

-Writes prescriptions, controlled substances per Dileneation of Privileges. First assists in surgery. Performs surgical procedures in the operating room under the direct supervision of the surgeon.

-Performs procedures in the clinic under direct or indirect supervision. The synergistic relationship with the surgeon and highly technical skills increases patient safety and positive surgical outcomes.

-Enables the continuity of care by managing patients in the pre, intra and post operative settings. Performs inpatient rounding, consultations, wound care and bedside procedures.

-In the outpatient setting, manages clinics, clinic procedures, facilitates family and patient education, and participates in grand rounds.
