Work Environment

This role involves providing therapy directly in the homes of our young clients, which allows for a flexible and dynamic work setting. Your work may require travel within the Charlottesville area, where you will be a crucial part of a compassionate care team focused on improving the health and independence of pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on comprehensive evaluations and assessments of each child's physical capabilities.
• Direct therapy services, focusing on improving motor skills, reducing pain, and enhancing independence within the home environment.
• Oversee the work of Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure adherence to prescribed care plans and appropriate service delivery.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients, including home environment assessments, to make effective recommendations that promote rehabilitation.
• Administer a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and physical agents, while instructing families and caregivers on at-home protocols.
• Prepare and maintain accurate clinical documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with care standards.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to discuss treatment goals and adjust care plans based on each client's progress.
• Act as a resource for families regarding therapy devices and safe practices within the therapeutic program.
• Participate in case conferences and contribute to the overall goal of providing exceptional healthcare experiences.

Patient Population / Client Focus

We primarily serve pediatric patients with a variety of conditions, including developmental delays, orthopedic issues, neuromuscular disorders, and post-surgical rehabilitation needs. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program; candidates with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy are encouraged to apply.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in good standing within the state of Virginia.
• Current CPR certification.
• Clean driving record and reliable transportation for home visits.
• Proven commitment to clinical excellence and ethical practice.

Preferred Experience

• At least one year of experience as a physical therapist, preferably in a pediatric or home care setting.
• Familiarity with community resources and services that support pediatric healthcare.
• Strong communication skills, with a capacity for engaging families in the care process.

Compensation and Benefits
