Work Environment

This position is predominantly onsite, allowing therapists to engage directly with patients in their own home environments, facilitating a comforting and personal therapeutic experience. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial consultations with patients to assess their physical conditions and symptoms, obtaining detailed medical histories to inform treatment.
• Diagnose movement dysfunctions through observation and assessment, and develop comprehensive, individualized treatment plans that align with patient goals.
• Guide patients in the proper execution of therapeutic exercises to ensure safety and maximize recovery potential.
• Administer hands-on therapeutic techniques, including massage and other modalities, to enhance healing and reduce pain.
• Assist patients in utilizing supportive devices such as wheelchairs or walkers, ensuring they have the necessary skills to maintain mobility and independence.
• Maintain meticulous patient records, documenting progress and modifying treatment plans as required.
• Educate patients and their families about in-home treatment options and exercises that can be integrated into daily routines for continued improvement.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice serves a diverse clientele, including children and adults across various diagnoses and physical conditions. You will have the opportunity to work with patients recovering from surgery, managing chronic pain, and those seeking preventative measures to maintain their health. Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• Active and valid license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey treatment plans and motivate patients.
• Proficiency in word processing and electronic health record systems for documentation and patient management.
• Ability to adapt to diverse patient needs and be flexible in treatment approaches.

Preferred Experience

A minimum of two years of experience in the physical therapy field is preferred, with a proven background in home care settings being particularly beneficial. Candidates should have practical knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and a track record of successful patient outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits
